Spring Birds

(Goblin is 30 months)

I did some sewing. I was kidding myself that this was for Goblin but really it was just for me. I wanted to create something quick and cute so I made some little felt birds for Goblin's Spring tree. 

I used left over bits of felt from my bean bag project. I didn't have enough to make both sides of each bird the same colour, so they are all double sided - which is actually quite cool. 

I used buttons for eyes which made the heads heavier than the tails. On most I managed to balance this by positioning the hanging ribbon a bit further back on the body, but on one of them it just wasn't happening so I added a string of buttons which not only balanced it but also looked cute. 

Goblin really liked the birds and asked me to take one off the tree so he could play with it. He liked hooking it over his toes. They've brightened up our spring tree too.
