Our trip to outer space

(Goblin is 4 years old)

If you look carefully at the structure in this picture you could be mistaken into thinking that this is a rather tall wooden tower with a big slide at the top. But Goblin would inform you that you are wrong. This is in fact our space ship. And we are about to embark on a trip into space.
Here is Goblin shouting up to me to check I have shut the hatches and done the preflight checks.
And here is Hublet stowed in the base of the rocket. After some pleading with Captain Goblin he was permitted to swap position on the rocket because it was a little cramped for the long journey. Hublet was given the top of the rocket where he could keep an eye out for, well, the moon and what not.
While eating his space raisins Goblin gave some serious thought as to how to set down on Jupiter after Hublet broke the important news that Jupiter was in fact a gas giant with no solid surface to land on.
But our intrepid Captain was confident we'd work something out, and with one last check on his parental crew he started our countdown.

  3. It's amazing how real things can become for them. SUCH a great way to learn through play. I'm watching my wee man's imagination grow now! Just the other day a little play house at the park became a cafe!
