I am a mean mean hungry person. I didn't used to be but... pregnancy.. gestational diabetes.. my blood sugar still bounces more than it should. Those dips in blood sugar make me a very nasty human being. I'm mean to my husband. I'm evil to strangers. I lost patience with my baby.

Snacks are the best solution I ever found. Carrots and dip. Peanutbutter and apples. Nuts. It doesn't have to be high calorie. I keep nuts and low carb power bars at my desk. I keep fruit cut up in the fridge. I keep snacks on the diningroom table. I keep nuts and crackers in my darn purse. Snacks are a godsend when you are busy and just can't eat a meal.

Plus, tiny meals really really often tend to make you lose weight so.. bonus ;)Meeshiehttp://meeshie.typepad.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4437312531314961361.post-62809013897558947532013-09-09T05:59:36.778+01:002013-09-09T05:59:36.778+01:00I love your yell-aholic post, I've been yellin...I love your yell-aholic post, I've been yelling a bit lately, and this is a bit out of character for me. I think it is often for the same kinds of issues that you have listed, I get hangry (hungry angry), time pressured and the not listening thing too, so thank you for sharing. I will try to focus on this too!Happy Whimsical Heartshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18288987013248899335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4437312531314961361.post-68832288984807522992013-09-09T03:57:17.061+01:002013-09-09T03:57:17.061+01:00Thank you for your honesty. I have also have wondered how Orange Rhino has done it.

I don't think I yell in frustration very often, maybe once a week, but I raise my voice more than I would like. Heck, I have four kids, so me yelling once a week is really like yelling once a month. LOL! I like to say that my kids are loud and that 's the only way they will pay attention to me, but I am just kidding myself there. On the times, I have thought about what I say first, and talk in a calm and quiet voice (even if serious) they pay attention just as well.

Making sure I am rested and fed well, makes a huge difference in my day. The big trigger for me is when my rest times are interrupted. If someone is acting out near bedtime or during naptime, I get really frustrated because I just want/need a break.

What makes this all worse is reading the recent articles that say yelling is just as bad as spanking. =( Hangs head in shame.
