He was aware that at Kentwell we have different names and that Tudorspeak didn't have TV or cars.

Our group does an exchange with a group called Dickens Fair in San Francisco so we had some of theirs with us this year. The main difference is that this is living history rather than battle re enactment (or fictional things like LARP or SCA which tend to be heavily nylon based). As you say, it seems a little narrow-minded of some schools to not embrace this unbelievable learning experience for young minds. What did Goblin have to say about the experience after coming home? Did he comment at all about the difference in lifestyles? Did you and your husband find this relaxing, or too much work? I'm intrigued! I want to find something like this in the U.S.

And I completely agree with you as far as the educational value (especially the social aspect). I can't say enough about mixed-age play, especially when the older kids are good role models.

Great post!pricklymomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08554734347924782262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4437312531314961361.post-40696878669418443012013-07-17T00:41:33.206+01:002013-07-17T00:41:33.206+01:00Wow, what a fantastic experience!
